31 August 2013 the Memorandum was signed between Rostov Velikiy and the Foundation Metropoli about joining the Association Cities Heirsof Byzantium (ACEB)

The visit of the delegation of the Foundation Metropoli and the signing of the memorandum were done during the celebration of the 1151 anniversary of the city on the last Saturday of August.

The representatives of the Foundation Metropoli arrived in Rostov one day before in order to attend the premiere of "Rostov suite". This is the work of contemporary composer Andrey Doynikov where ancient texts are woven together with the sounding orchestra. The premiere took place at the walls of the ancient Kremlin , which became magnificent scenery for the show.

The Memorandum with the Foundation Metropoil about joining the Association Cities Heirs of Byzantium by Rostov Velikiy was signed by the head of the urban settlement Rostov Konstantin Shevkoplyas and the head of the municipal district of Rostov, Vladimir Goncharov. At the meeting, representatives of the Foundation and the Administration of Rostov Velikiy discussed plans for future cooperation in 2014. The issues such as the development of bilateral tourism exchanges, organization and support of cultural initiatives needed to attract tourists and economic development of the city of Rostov Velikiy were discussed.

After the official meeting with the Administration the delegation of the Foundation Metropoli took part in the opening of the Rostov heraldic sign "Red Deer - a symbol of the great city".

During a solemn ceremony of the Day of the city, the Foundation presented a gift to the Administration the album "Cities Heirs of Byzantium".
