Florence Wight Nights June 24-26, 2010

From June 24 till 26, 2010, Florence saw the gala program “Florence White Nights” including a number of cultural events.

The first day of the program coincided with one of the largest holidays in Florence – St. John’s Day, protector of the city. On this day, June 24, the final of Calcio Storico competition – mediaeval football - took place on Piazza Santa Croce.

A gorgeous firework was arranged in the evening on the embankment of Arno River. Guests were able to watch it from the most advantageous angle, because organizers of the Florence White Nights program had diligently booked seats for them on the honoured guests’ turbine.

The second day was the culmination of Florence White Nights program. In the evening, a grand ball inviting 300 guests took place at the magnificent Palazzo Corsini on the embankment of Arno River.

The third day of the program included an excursion to the Uffizi Gallery and Vasari Corridor. To see the portrait collection stored in the Vasari Corridor and to admire the Arno view from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge is indeed a very rare opportunity.
