12/13 September 2013. The visit of the delegation of the Foundation Metropoli to the city of Castiglione di Sicilia

On September the 12th the delegation of the Foundation Metropoli visited the city of Castiglione di Sicilia. The visit began with a visitation of the Byzantine Cuba, which despite that in the past was used for agricultural purposes, marvelously has been preserved until today. The delegation then visited the Church of St. Nicholas, where you can see the Byzantine frescoes restored.

The official meeting with the Mayor and city officials was held in the evening. During the meeting the possible directions of cooperation of Castiglione di Sicilia with the Russian cities of the Association ACEB were discussed. Also the participation in the various tourism fairs with their own special offers were discussed. After the official part there was the dinner with a tasting of the traditional cuisine of the city.

The next day, the delegation was offered a cultural program, which could be a typical program for the visits of delegations of Russian cities ACEB. The delegation was accompanied on the Volcan Etna, an active volcano in Sicily, the latest minor eruptions which took place in the beginning of 2013.

In the evening, the delegation was offered wine and food tasting in the Castle of the city, the tasting was accompanied by a folkloric show.
